Philadelphia, PA (March 16, 2020) – In preparation for the country’s first Mid-Atlantic cannabis conference, the CannAtlantic Conference, the Philadelphia Association of Black Journalists (PABJ) has been monitoring news updates on the ongoing coronavirus cases in different parts of the city.
Due to the expanded cases of the virus, as well as input from speakers, sponsors, vendors and current attendees, the CannAtlantic Conference will be rescheduled. The tentative date is September 26 and 27 at Quorum, located on 3675 Market Street, Philadelphia PA 19104. We will confirm our new date following the guidelines of the CDC and as we get closer to June 2020.
This decision was not made lightly, we recognize and wish to ensure social distancing and mitigation of the spread of the virus is a top priority for the city of Philadelphia and the region. “As a person with a compromised immune system, I know there’s an urgency to ensure we all work together to lower the expansion of this virus. We are prioritizing the health and safety of our stakeholders,” said conference organizer and PABJ Executive Board Member Tauhid Chappell.
Tickets purchased for the April 4 and 5 conference will be honored for the Sept. 26 and 27 dates.
We urge all participants to continue to implement and adhere to proper and proactive hygienic practices for the safety of all those involved. It’s important everyone takes extra precaution in limiting the spread of the coronavirus for the health of society.
The CannAtlantic Conference will happen. We look forward to seeing everyone in September for this historic event.
